The Stadsarchief Amsterdam administers archive material about the history of Amsterdam and its inhabitants. The Stadsarchief not only holds the Amsterdam city archive, but it also administers local private archives and archives from organizations in its impressive building De Bazel. This makes Stadsarchief the historical documentation centre of Amsterdam, entailing a historical and topographical collection with millions of maps, drawings, imprints, and a library as well as an extensive sound, film and photo archive.
Het Stadsarchief Amsterdam approached Novel to do the strategic repositioning of their public services. Het Stadsarchief Amsterdam administers and unlocks the archive of the city, but also showcases the city’s heritage through exhibitions and events. We organize brainstorm sessions and focus-groups and by this focus to improve the positioning of their various services. By identifying where the values of Stadsarchief Amsterdam and the people of the city come together, we increase public outreach.
